listen to me too often the “spanking is child abuse!!” card is used to target poc families and get their children taken away from them when actually sometimes they really are just trying to protect their kids from making shit poor decisions that could hurt them and others in the future

spanking can be abused as a disciplinary tactic and often – yes it can be abusive but i want y’all to realize how if my mom ever got dragged to jail for some bad shit i did after spanking me, that would fuck me up WORST than the whooping

not only did i fuck up i fucked up so bad it got my mother in prison and people are still getting hurt 

being hit because u got a C in a class is absolutely abuse, but getting hit because you thought u could vandalize someone’s house, because you’re hurting other kids, because you’re sneaking around and doing illegal shit, just saying “dont do that again” is not gonna get anything across
