Those of you who have been around Tumblr for a long time know that there is a stark contrast between how Black Tumblr used to be and how it currently is. It used to be really fun, there used to be a vibe of togetherness and community. 

But now there is a culture of resentment, distrust, combativeness and general negativity thats always just below the surface. People have cliqued up and dug their heels in the sand and the negative vibes permeate through everything. 

And I’m not pointing the blame at one person or one clique. Everyone shares this blame to certain extents. 

It’s become something of place where if you’re having fun that means you aren’t socially aware enough and are therefore problematic. There is no real sense of community because people are doing the most for notes and just wanna take shots at each other.
